Objective

Family Coaching
After completing the study unit, students know how to plan, implement and evaluate family coaching sessions. They are able to apply various methods to planning and implementation of family coaching that are participatory and enable peer support. Students support expecting families’ resources in growth to parenthood and their ability to care and bring up a child. Students know how to coach parents to the forthcoming birth. They find methods supporting fatherhood.

Early Interaction
After completing the study unit, students know how to apply knowledge and skills to help parents to create a physical, social and emotional environment, which enables their child’s best possible development in the best possible way. Students master the central features of parental guidance and interviewing parents so that it supports the psychosocial wellbeing of the family and children. Students are able to assess and help the interaction between parents and their babies/children and discuss it with them. Students know how to use the work methods of early interaction to support the parenthood of parents when working with them, to raise their self-esteem and help them solve their problems more effectively. Students identify families and situations in which a child’s normal psychosocial development could be disturbed or at risk.
