Objective

Students achieve competence in caring for the mother, newborn baby and family. They plan, implement and evaluate patient education promoting health and parental support in a client-orientated way. They are able to carry out breastfeeding counselling according to the World Health Organisation Baby Friendly Programme by taking a competence test, which is part of the breastfeeding counselling education. Students comprehend the significance of collaboration between primary health care and specialised health care to ensure the continuity of care.
