Course unit code: TY00AA11

General information

Credits
3 ECTS

Objective

The student will understand the central concepts of chemistry and will be able to apply them to his or her own field of study.

The purpose of the course is to give the student the basic knowledge of general and inorganic chemistry. The course will lay a foundation for the study of chemistry and environmental protection.
The course will also provide the student with the necessary knowledge of the basics of chemistry, calculus, atomic and molecular structure as well as of chemical thermodynamics. The course will include the chemistry of some elements and chemical applications.

The student will be provided with an overall understanding of environmental problems and their connection to society, economy and technology. The possibilities of technology to protect the environment as well as environmental legislation will be covered.
