Objective

Students know the principles and use of hand soldering, typical surface mount components and through hole components, lead free solders and safety issues.

Students recognize surface mount and through hole components, can make hand solder joints, can use reflow oven, and can apply safety issues in soldering process.

Content

Hand soldering theory and practice, paste printing, surface mount components, through hole components, lead free soldering, safety at soldering assembly, repair soldering, x-ray inspection

Usage of repair soldering station, temperature profiling of reflow oven, modeling with 3D x-ray images.
