Circuit Analysis 1Laajuus (5 ECTS)

Course unit code: TN00AA49

General information

Credits
5 ECTS

Objective

After completion of the course the student understands the operation of DC-circuits and can also analyse them. The student is able to use the most common analysis methods and understand the operation of different components.

After completion of the course the student can operate basic measurement devices and can understand the factors that affect the measurement accuracy. The student can design and implement simple DC-circuits. Fundamental rules of electrical safety and working in a laboratory are also studied.

Content

The basic concepts of DC electricity : charge, current, voltage, resistance etc. Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s laws, series-parallel circuits, energy and power, the superposition theorem, mesh and node voltage methods, Thevenin’s theorem, The basics of AC-techniques : frequency, angular frequency, capacitance, inductance. phasors
