Objective

The student will be familiar with normal distribution and confidence interval. The student will be able to find an error vector estimate and an error estimate in linear vector conversion as well as a vector estimate.

Content

The concept of probability and expectation. Estimation of probabilities by using samples.
Some discrete probability distributions (e.g. binomial). Normal probability distributions. Basic statistics (e.g. mean and standard deviation). Confidence interval and basic statistical tests (e.g. to find a systematic error). Linear vector conversion with error estimates.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with normal distribution and is able to make a confidence interval. The student is able to find an error vector estimate and an error estimate in linear vector conversion.
