Objective
After completion of the course the student understands the significance of hydrodynamics in various processes and how to mathematically approach hydrodynamics. The student is familiar with details of the equipment in flow and heat transfer systems and how these affect the functions of the systems.

The student is able to significantly apply the knowledge in flow and heat transfer systems for process and product R&D. The student knows how to evaluate more comprehensively function of these systems and size equipment for these.
Content
Scale factors and theri applications, properties and sizing of equipment for fluid transfer, fluid flow past solid particles, basics of hydrodynamics and heat transfer in agitated systems, equipment for evaporation and heat transfer and sizing of these, theory of drying operations
