Objective
The student will perform in a team a pre-study for a biotech or food process using engineering skills learnt during previous studies
The student is familiar with the process design methodology, diagrams and concepts. The student knows the most important documents and their role in the project's success. The student understands the calculation and assessment methods. S/he can evaluate equipment design in different solutions and can make necessary calculations. The student is able to draw up basic documents and diagrams during the design process.
The student can analyze relevant costs and revenues in capital investment appraisal. The student will be aware of financing sources and their cost effects. If working capital represents a major factor student will be able to take that into account. The student knows the time value of money and appreciates the risk that is inherent in capital projects.

The student is able to implement the project according to the instructions and can create the needed surveys and reports.

The student is able to run the project goal-oriented and on schedule. S/he can (independently and as part of a group) undertake studies and design the project. S/he can report the results and comment their meaningfulness. The student is an active and initiative member of the project team.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to see the project as a whole and is able to act wisely at various stages of the project. S/he can retrieve widely data from literature and is able to write a reasonable project plan. The student is able to compare the results to the literature and can draw sensible conclusions from the results. Additionally s/he is a supportive and self-imposed member of the project team.
