Objective
Students can develop and script a concept for a television programme of a specific genre, such as entertainment, music or a magazine type of talk show. They are able to handle an extensive amount of information and to select and organize the information into meaningful programme content. They master the technical process of multi-camera recording. They are able to utilize their own original expression in producing the form and content of a television show. They can analyze and challenge the traditional forms of television narrative and find alternatives for them. In a television project, they work as a producer, editor or director, as well as take care of a variety of technical tasks.
Students specializing in journalism are able to research and edit content needed in a television programme. They can work as a member of a multi-professional team. They can react to changing circumstances and convey information to television viewers in a comprehensible and interesting manner.
Students specializing in production can keep up to date with and popularize research results, current events and discourses of the society. They can work as a supervisor of a team, they know the principles of collaborative budgeting and can apply a cost-conscious and client-centered approach to their work. They can analyze television programmes and their working environment and to give and receive constructive feedback.
Students specializing in television directing know the genres of entertainment, music and magazine type of talk show productions and their multi-camera production process. They are able to compose a directing vision on the basis of a topic, text or project. They can analyze their own work and justify the decisions they make as a director. They know the principles of collaborative budgeting and can apply a cost-conscious and client-centered approach to their work.
