Fundamentals of Cinematography and Editing in Fictional FilmLaajuus (4 ECTS)

Objective

Students can use professional camera and lighting equipment, draw up a storyboard and a lighting plot for a small-scale film production and to lead the camera crew in a shoot. They comprehend the fundamentals of editing a fictional film, know how to use film editing programmes and understand the basics of colour grading and use of effects.

Fundamentals of shot and lighting design

Theory, concepts and methods of editing a fictional film
Learning to use an editing programme
Dramaturgy from the perspective of an editor
Collaboration with the director and sound designer

Participating the lectures.  Exercises done, some shortages.

Active participating to the lectures. Ability to adapt.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Active participating to the lectures.  Ability to adapt and reflect. Exercises done with new knowledge to the subject.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
