Objective

Students focus on various aspects of sound post-production and, as member of the sound crew, take responsibility for finishing the soundtrack on schedule. Students know the basics of work supervision and able to lead the sound crew based on an expressive vision.

Students are able to work on various aspects of sound post-production and they know the production process so well that their contribution to the workflow is timely and flawless. In the role of the sound designer, they can specify their own needs in relation to technical requirements, artistic goals and the production process.

Students understand the framework of a fiction production and is able to budget the necessary resources for post-production and evaluate the suggested resources.

Students comprehend the importance of development of artistic and expressive work in post-production, and are able to review, reflect on and alter their sound design. They can also communicate their needs for changes in the crew and understand the importance of equipment and facilities management and division of the workload.

Students appreciate various contexts, where sound post-production is carried ou and masters the basic techniques and practices of creating, editing and managing of sound material. Students command the basics of sound mixing. Students masters the sound production process in a fiction film production from sound design to the completed soundtrack.

Students know how to use a sound console and studio and are able to deepen their audio theoretical knowledge.

• the elements and stages of post-production of sound in theory and practice

• leading the sound crew in the role of the sound designer
• commitment to production schedules and taking responsibility
• using the studio and post-production equipment
• job shadowing in the film industry

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.

The course is a degree requirement for students majoring in Sound Design and Production.
