Stagecraft: Performance LogisticsLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The student becomes acquainted with the logistics of scenery structures. The student also understands the significance of appropriate planning for setting up and taking down a performance and for storing its elements.

Content

The student gets familiar with solutions and planning related to the transportation, storage, and setting up of performance elements such as scenery. The student also learns to apply logistics to the needs of traditional theatres as well as other types of performances. On the basis of real-life logistic problems, the students get experience in predicting and evaluating the amount of resources and time needed in big or small performances. The course is completed through a practical project assignment.
