Objective

The student will be able to design and produce different patterned knitted textiles for specified target groups. The student will deepen his/her knowledge of different creative uses of knittings and the technical possibilities of knitted material. The student will be able to apply his/her knowledge and design skills to new utilizations. He/she will be able to design patterned knitted textiles by using software specialized for it.

Content

-creative design and visualization of knittings/knitted structures
-enhancing the knowledge and skills of patterned knittings
-designing own patterned knittings
-software specialized for the knitted textile design

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the patterned knitting techniques and is able to apply his/her designs for a hand knitting machine using specialized software. He/she is able to design patterned knitting structures creatively and using various materials and for various uses. The student is able to write instructions for manufacturing his/her design. The student understands the work safety rules and is able to work with the knitting machine unsupervised. He/she understands the ecological and economic impact of his/her work.
