Objective

After the course the student will understand the different stages of the textile product planning process and the idea of a complete process (from idea to product). The student will master the ideation process and will be able to design textile products from different starting points for different target groups using several design methods. She/he will understand the principles of concept design and the industrial production process in the textile industry. The student will know how to apply theory to practical design projects and will master the professional presentation. The student will understand the importance of marketing and business for design processes.

-evaluation methods for product planning, function and technical solutions

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the product design and product development process in textile design. He/she is able to design textiles using various problem-solving, data collecting and ideation methods. The student knows the evaluation methods for product design, function/functionality and technical solutions. He/she is able to apply the product design process in textile design tasks. The student can actively observe the current design environment and phenomena and apply this information in his/her work.
