Objective
The student will acquire special technical knowledge of knitted textiles. He/she will be able to design different knitted textile surfaces. The student will recognize special techniques, concepts and qualities of knitted textiles. He/she will be able to choose materials for different purposes and compare knitted materials in relation to the value of use and economic efficiency. The student will be able to apply the technical knowledge of knitted textiles/materials into creative exercises in practice.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student is familiar with the basic knitting techniques and is be able to adjust his/her designs for a hand knitting machine. He/she knows the most common knitting techniques, yarns and materials.The student is able to read a manual for knitting machine and prepare instructions for manufacturing his/her design. The student understands the work safety rules and is able to work with a knitting machine unsupervised. He/she understands the ecological and economic impact of his/her work.
