Introduction to Economics and Health Care SciencesLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students become familiar with the central theoretical perspectives and core concepts of economics. They understand the economic structures of society and the factors that have an impact on them. They also understand Finnish national economics as a part of international economics and economic policy as a factor influencing one's way of life, social policy and environment. Students familiarise themselves with the core concepts and phenomena of national public health science and are able to apply those to the social pedagogical context.

Basic concepts and core theories of economics. National economics and how to influence it. Globalisation and environmental economics as a part of national economics and social policy. Core concepts of public health science. Current research interests and challenges of public health science.
