Objective
Students comprehend the importance of professional ethics in social services, are committed to the ethical principles of the profession and are able to act in accordance with them. They are able to reflect on the challenges of professional ethics based on their own values and in their professional development. Students understand the significance of emotions in their work and learn to deal reflectively with them. They have internalised the importance of professionalism in interaction.
Content
Ethics in social services. International and national agreements and guidelines. Ethical documentation of client work. Reflection of their own actions and choices from an ethical viewpoint. Significance of emotions and dealing with them in ethically challenging situations. Responsibility for taking care of one’s own occupational health.

Students master professional concepts, and they justify their choices using the comprehensive knowledge base, based on the client’s needs. Students assess systematically the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.
