Objective

After completing the study unit, students are familiar with the basics of business activities. They adopt a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship and understand the factors affecting the profitability of enterprises. Students are able to compare the performance of various means of marketing. They are familiar with the basics of HRM (human resources management), labour legislation as well as the core content and objectives of modern leadership models. Students understand the importance of quality in the production process, logistics and service production and perceive it as an essential part of the competitiveness of the organisation.

Content

Basics of economy and main legislation, objectives of marketing and competitive weapons (e.g. quality and productisation of competence), profitable business activities and networks, the financial process of an enterprise, internal entrepreneurship and showing readiness for entrepreneurship, marketing and marketing strategies, consumer protection, quality and quality standards, HRM, labour legislation, logistics in the optical sector, leadership, basics of accounting, profitability and cost control, key figures of optical stores, profit margin, price setting, budget and business plan

Students use the appropriate core concepts as well as make choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They recognise the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.
