Objective
Students are familiar with the research and development process, central means of data acquisition and analysis. Students understand the basis for assessing research evidence and know how to utilise the results of research and development work critically. They understand the significance of wide knowledge to evidence-based practice. Students perceive evidence-based practice as part of their professional expertise and know how to act accordingly in their work as well as apply research ethical principles to their work.

Means of acquiring data (quantitative and qualitative) and methods of R&D
Different analysis methods of R&D (quantitative and qualitative)
Critical evaluation of data and evaluation of the level of evidence
Evaluation of results and their utilisation in evidence-based practice

Studies are carried out during the second academic year. Teaching is implemented as part of the professional studies of degree programmes and other studies supporting professional studies.
Teaching may be integrated with tuition in statistics (workshops of quantitative research and studies in mathematical statistics).
