Objective

Students perceive the dynamic and developing nature of physiotherapy. They familiarise themselves with historical developments in physiotherapy and its education.
They are familiar with factors steering and regulating physiotherapy as a profession.
Students perceive the physiotherapy process as being a goal-oriented and dynamic activity. Students understand the significance of different interaction orientations in a therapeutic relationship. They appreciate client involvement and promote it in a physiotherapy process where the key elements include the therapeutic relationship, interaction, client involvement and physiotherapeutic assessment, as well as methods of physiotherapy.
Students know how to take the correct action in situations threatening public safety, in accidents and in the event of sudden illness and to administer first aid as appropriate.

Content

The history, current state and future of physiotherapy and physiotherapy education
The physiotherapy process, interaction between the Physiotherapist and the person in rehabilitation, the significance of the conception of humanity in physiotherapy, professional growth and professional ethics, clinical decision-making
Different interaction orientations
Basics of first aid, action in situations threatening safety, duties of different organisations in rescue services.
