Objective

Students understand the theoretical foundation of learning and group education in particular. They are able plan, implement and evaluate empowering family and antenatal education. Students can support expecting parents in parenting, couple relationship, care of the newborn and breastfeeding by means of family and antenatal education. They know how to apply research knowledge on education in a versatile way as well as use participatory teaching methods.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students understand the theoretical foundation of learning and group learning in particular.
Students are able to plan, implement and evaluate empowering family and antenatal education.
By means of family education, students are able to support expecting parents to parenthood, couple relationship, care of the newborn and breastfeeding.
By means of antenatal education, students are able to support parents to prepare for childbirth and to prevent fear of childbirth in a holistic way.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

Students apply the basics of patient education and group education. Students are able to plan, implement and evaluate empowering antenatal education. Students can apply different means of family education to supporting the growth to parenthood and care of the child. Students are able to apply the means of antenatal education to parents’ holistic preparation for birth and the prevention of fear of childbirth.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students apply the basics of patient education and group education creatively and innovatively. Students plan and implement empowering family and antenatal education as well as can evaluate and justify their decisions based on theoretical knowledge. Students can apply the means of family education based on theory deservingly to support the growth to parenthood and care of the child. Students can apply means of antenatal education based on theory creatively to support parents’ holistic preparation for birth and the prevention of fear of childbirth.
