Objective

Knows the basic concepts of electricity, the operation and protection of electrical components. Knows the proficiency requirements of design and installation of electrical systems. Knows the principles and parties in the supply chain for electrical power. Can select electrical appliances and wiring to a single family house and dimension the fuses. Knows the possibilities to save electricity in residential buildings. Understands the environmental effects of electricity production. Is familiar with the major concepts of distribution of electricity, and knows how the concepts are interlinked.

Principles and environmental effects of electricity production. Use of electricity in buildings. Principles and parties in the supply chain for electrical power. Electrical appliances in residential buildings and their connectivity. Requirements and standards concerning design and installation of electrical systems in buildings. Principles of electrical building service systems and their components. Electricity supply and control of electrical building service systems. Dimensioning of electricity distribution networks in residential buildings. Efficient use of electricity in buildings.
