Objective
After completing the course students are able to:
-Identify different building envelope structures in buildings
-Rename different possible solutions for envelope structures to be constructed in some building types
-Determine how building envelope structures have been built in different time periods
-List materials that have been used and will be used in the future in construction of envelopes
-List climate (heat, moisture, wind etc.) and other factors (sound, day light, indoor air quality etc.) that have effect on designing of building envelope structures and their importance
-Identify importance of detail designing of connections to air tightness of structures and energy efficiency of a building
-Calculate U-value for a structure
-Calculate heat and humidity physics of a structure to evaluate the possibilities for structures to dry
-Calculate pressure differences over a structure in simple cases
-List prerequisites and initial data when using computer programs in analyzing of envelope structures
-Calculate moisture distribution of a structure with a computer program
-Write a report of modern envelope structures in energy efficient buildings
