Objective

The objective is to provide a broad view of leadership, to understand how to lead people, especially experts and knowledge workers, and to introduce current trends in leadership. The student will know the basic leadership principles in the construction industry today.

Content

Contents are the following topics: Leadership vs. management, trends in leadership, leading business, leading people, leading into the future, personal leadership, special themes and topics in leadership (project works).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the leadership concepts used in the construction industry today, including current trends and the future outlook.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements above, the student is able to explain what leadership for experts, for the future of the construction industry and for personal motivation are.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements above, the student has a deep understanding about leadership and is able to apply them creatively and sensibly in different applications.
