Objective

The student will be able to design and carry out physical measurements, identify the essential sources of uncertainty, estimate the uncertainties of the results and prepare a written report.

Content

Physics laboratory projects on mechanics, fluids and thermal physics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student will be able to use basic measuring devices, collect and analyse data, and present her/his findings briefly either orally or in the form of a written report.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student will be able to engage with measuring devices, execute an experiment, collect and analyse data, and communicate and present her/his findings either orally or in the form of a written report.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student will be able to engage with an apparatus that she/he may not have seen before, design and execute an experiment or some type of investigation, collect and analyse data, and communicate and present her/his findings either orally or in the form of a written report.
