Osaamistavoitteet

After completed this course student has physical knowledge in mechanics and
thermal physics . Student understands that physical theories
are models of physical systems that would be too complicated to analyze in full
without the simplifications. He also understands that the background of the
models are observations and measurements.
Student can classify phenomenons in nature and he can understand the physics
of these phenomenon’s. He also knows the limits of physical laws.
It is also easy for student to understand the physical background in common
technical systems.

Sisältö

Kinematics (vectors and scalars, kinematics in one and two dimensions).
Dynamics (Newton’s laws and applications of Newton’s laws, work and energy,
conservation of energy, momentum, impulse and collisions, rotational
motion, dynamics of rotational motion, static equilibrium of forces,
gravitation)
Thermo dynamics (Thermometers and temperature scales, thermal
expansion, heat transfer,thermal properties of matter, heat transfer, infrared
radiation)
Oscillations (harmonic, damped and forced oscillations)

-Applications of acceleration sensors in kinematics and dynamics.
-Pressure sensors and flow sensors.
-Heat transfer in multilayer systems.
