Work Placement 1Laajuus (15 ECTS)

Objective

The student is able to work independently and as a member of a group in his/her own professional field.

The student is able to work efficiently and accurately, follow the hours of employment and act accordingly.

The student is able to use and evaluate the skills he/she has learned in practice.

The student is able to follow the health and safety procedures of the work place and understands that the occupational safety and environmental factors are part of the industrial/companies' activity.

The student is able to describe practices and procedures of the work place, his/her duties there, working environment and different units at working place.

The student is able to recognize the work and career prospects in his/her own field of study and knows the basics of labour legislation.

Content

The work placement is carried out according to the degree programme’s placement guidelines. The work placement should be diverse and show an upward trend, so that it would promote professional competence progressing from the basic skills to the more demanding skills in an engineering level.

1. Placement and labour legislation lectures
2. Search and apply for the job/placement and do the work placement plan
3. Working in the student’s own professional field at least the length of the placement period
4. Learning assignment/-s

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

1. The student has to submit all needed learning assignments

2. The student has to submit the work certificate, which shows that tasks and length of the placement period are accepted
