Objective

With the ground breaking work of Daniel Goleman (Emotional Intelligence) and many other human resource experts, many companies today are looking for more than academic performance on an applicants’ CV. They also want to see you have developed your relationship, teamwork and leadership skills during your degree course. As you start your journey to develop your academic potential here at Metropolia, This course aims to help you understand the relationship skills you now have in these areas, and where you might develop a higher set of relationship competences over the next 4 years.

• Who am I? What are my natural strengths? What kind of relationship skills have I developed up until now?
• What kind of people skills will I need to develop myself from an employee to being a successful manager?
• Team building – what roles am I best at, how can I identify others’ strengths, and how can we build a successful team using this knowledge
• The development of communication skills – the role of improved listening, assertiveness and conflict resolution skills
• The role of core values in building an effective life
• Attitudes that help us enjoy and succeed in life.
