Objective

Students are familiar with the principles of collaborative approach, understand the significance of interaction phenomena to care relationships and to professional cooperation as well as are aware of the significance of the constant development of their professional expertise. Students realise the significance of their competence to the mental health and wellbeing of their client/patient and his/her significant others. They adopt a respectful attitude to persons with mental health and substance abuse problems. Students are familiar with the major treatment methods of mental health and substance abuse nursing in the various phases of the care process.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students identify the phenomena of professional interaction in care relationships and realise the significance of their own competence to the mental health of their patients.
Students realise the significance of multiprofessional cooperation in patients’ holistic care.
Students can name group phenomena present in multiprofessional cooperation.
Students are aware of the attitudes related to mental health and substance abuse in patient care.
Students can name the most common treatment methods related to mental health and substance abuse problems in various phases of the care process.
Students are aware of the significance of their own wellbeing in the care process.

Students understand the relation between the phenomena of professional interaction in care relationships.
Students identify the principles of collaborative approach to their care relationships.
Students understand the significance of their own actions in multiprofessional cooperation.
Students are aware of the significance of group phenomena in the actions of multiprofessional groups.
Students become aware of their own attitudes about mental health and substance abuse and their significance to the patient care they provide.
Students can utilise the most common treatment methods of mental health and substance abuse in various phases of the care process.
Students understand the significance of the use of work counselling to professional development and coping.

Students form their view on professional interaction in care relationships, which is based on research evidence and their own experience.
Students know how to apply knowledge on professional interaction to diverse care relationships and evaluate their actions critically.
Students apply knowledge on the actions of multiprofessional workgroup critically to the patient’s holistic care.
Students present their own view of their part of the collaborative approach to work based on research evidence and experience.
Students analyse their attitudes towards mental health and substance abuse problems and evaluate their significance to patient care.
Students apply versatilely and critically diverse care methods of mental health and substance abuse based on evidence in various care processes.
Students evaluate their professional development needs.
