Objective

Students understand the requisites and principles of the development of nursing expertise in evidence-based nursing. They are familiar with the ethical and moral obligations required in the expertise of nursing. Students understand the significance of client-oriented nursing to evidence-based nursing and know how to act in accordance with the principles of ergonomics. They have a positive attitude towards scientific knowledge, and they utilise it in their activities.

Students understand the significance of safety to nursing. They are familiar with the principles of ergonomics. Students are aware of the various assistive methods to support clients/patients to manage in their daily activities. Students identify changes in clients'/patients’ vital signs and are familiar with the methods supporting them. Students understand the significance of professional interaction to nursing.

Most important laws, decrees and recommendations guiding nurses’ actions and patient rights
Service system of social and health care

Satisfactory:
Students understand the prerequisites and principles in the development of expertise.
Students are familiar with the ethical and moral obligations of nursing.
Students have a positive attitude towards scientific knowledge and utilise it in their actions.
Students understand the significance of safe care to nursing.
Students are familiar with the principles of ergonomics.
Students are aware of the main methods of helping clients/patients in various nursing situations.
Students identify changes in clients'/patients’ basic vital signs and know methods to support the vital signs.
Students understand the significance of professional interaction to nursing.

Good:
Students understand the significance of expertise to nursing and analyse their own expertise.
Students can act according to ethical and moral obligations of nursing.
Students search for scientific knowledge as a foundation of their actions.
Students apply the principles of safety to nursing.
Students understand the instructions and guidelines related to safety at work as well as are aware of their own responsibility for preventing risks.
Students can choose the appropriate nursing practices to help support clients'/patients’ daily activities.
Students can choose the appropriate methods to support clients'/patients’ basic vital signs.
Students apply the principles of professional interaction to their actions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Excellent:
Students can analyse the expertise of nursing and their own development as experts of nursing.
Students can evaluate their actions according to the moral and ethical principles of nursing.
Students can evaluate the scientific knowledge used in nursing.
Students can evaluate the safety of nursing care.
Students apply ergonomics as part of the holistic care of the client/patient and their own work safety.
Students can plan their patient’s daily care based on evidence.
