Objective
Students can plan, implement and evaluate surgical nursing to various patient groups. They use evidence-based knowledge when making decisions concerning the care of surgical patients.
Students provide education to surgical patients throughout the various stages of the care path in accordance with the principles of health promotion. They understand the factors related to patient safety. Students are familiar with the principles of a surgical patient’s wound care. They can describe the significance of pain management to the patient’s rehabilitation as well as choose different pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions to treat pain. Students are familiar with the principles and modes of operation of safe blood transfusion.
