Objective

Students are able to assess signs related to ageing in the body and identify causes and symptoms of the most common diseases related to ageing as well as are familiar with their examinations, prevention and treatment principles.

Content

Changes related to ageing in the body.
Major illnesses of old age, their prevention and care: memory disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, cerebrovascular disorders, mental health problems/depression of the elderly.
Special questions related to old age: delirium, medication, pain, sleeping disorders, falling/vertigo, incontinence, legal capacity.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
