Objective

Students identify the main features of the development of children and young people of different ages. They understand the challenges of the distinct physiological features to the nursing of children and young people of different ages. Students are able to implement the clinical nursing methods of nursing of children and young people safely. Students know how to care for acutely and chronically ill child patients in cooperation with the child and young person and his/her family. Students understand the significance of the illness for the child, young person and family. Students search for evidence-based knowledge related to the child, young person and family’s clinical nursing problems and their patient education sessions. Students can justify their decisions based on evidence and good nursing practices.

Students can care for acutely and chronically ill children and young people in cooperation with them and their families.
Students understand the significance of play to nursing of children.
Students understand the significance of cooperation with families.

Students understand the significance of cooperation with families and know how to cooperate with them.

Students master the special features of nursing of children, young people and families and take them into consideration in their actions.
Students understand the values and principles of nursing of children and young people and can apply them to work with families as well as evaluate their own actions based on them.
Students understand the significance of play in nursing of children of different ages, use play diversely as a nursing method and evaluate the significance of play based on evidence.
Students can plan, implement and evaluate nursing of children and young people in cooperation with families and evaluate their own actions critically.
