Course unit code: TX00FL95
General information
- Credits
- 5 cr
Objective
On completion of the course the student
• understands that circuits realised on PCBs may as well be realised directly on a silicon chip as integrated circuits
• understands the basics of the design and is able to create simple analog and digital integrated MOSFET-circuits
• understands the differences between MOSFET, JFET and bipolat technologies
• understands the effect of parasitic elements on the design and is able to minimise those effects if necessary
• understands the basics of switched capacitor (SC) circuits as well as more complicated MOSFET-structures such as current mirrors, active loads and differential structures.
Content
• Semiconductor physics
• BJT, JFET and MOSFET structures
• Passive components in ICs
• MOSFET structures in detail (including parasitics)
• Differential structures, current mirrors, active loads
• Switched capacitor structures
