The student
• can describe the main principles of copyright law
• knows the practices related to copyright in the music industry and can apply them from the perspective of the creative and performing artist
• is able to identify the main contractual and reporting practices in relation to music publishing and music distribution
• is able to describe the responsibilities and areas of activity of the main copyright, advocacy and professional organisations.

• Actors in the music sector and their roles
• Fundamentals and specific issues of copyright from the perspective of the creative and performing musician and the record producer
• Main copyright and professional organisations and their services
• Notifications, authorisations and identifiers required for professional music creation and sound production
• Entrepreneurship in the creative industries
• Grants and applications
• Planning and documenting the production part of a music production project
• Funding schemes in the domestic creative industries and the principles of grant application writing
