Music WritingLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student gains the capability of writing instrumental and/or vocal melodies with basic harmonies both in the given style and spontaneously. The student is able to utilize various methods of music writing in their activities and gets familiar with the significance of lyrics in a song. The student learns how to write music in a group and is able to produce a demo recording. They are also capable of expressing their musical opinions both orally and in writing.

In order to get an approved grade, the student
- has participated in the lessons
- has completed the agreed tasks
- understands the importance of different methods of music writing in creative music making
- is able to produce the necessary demo material (recording, music notation, etc.) of his/her music
- is able to work independently
