Introduction to SongwritingLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The student is able to write popular songs with basic harmony both in a given style and independently. The student can utilize music writing techniques in their music and pays creative attention to the influence of the lyrics on the overall performance. The student becomes familiar with co-writing songs in a team. The student knows how to make a demo recording of their music and is able to express their musical ideas orally, in writing and on a recording.

- Attending tuition
- Completing and submitting the given exercises and assignments according to the agreed schedule
- Writing and recording at least one new composition and lyric (the music is to be written independently, lyrics can be written by a team)
