Objective

The student understands the value of high-quality photos in object documentation and is able to use digital system camera to produce proper photos. The student understands the operating principle of digital camera and is able to choose correct camera adjustments according to the environment. The student is able to use manual and light exposure adjustments. In order to use his/her photos for documentation, reports, printed and digital publications the student knows how to use image processing programs and do needed color and tone corrections. The student knows the basics of video-shooting and how to use videos for conservation documentation and understands the use of photogrammetry for the documentation of cultural heritage.
The student will be able to act appropriately in both studying and working life communication situations. The student knows the good practice of written and oral communication and is able to apply and respect them accordingly. The student is able to produce conservation and cultural heritage documentation and an oral /written representation of his/her own special field of conservation. The student is able to produce different types of written material for different media and communicate as a specialist in different situation and environments to wider audiences. The student is able to acquire information, analyze and use information in relevant manner. The student is able to use his/her language and communication skills for continuing development of his/her professional thinking and expertise.

Photography and use of digital system camera for object documentation
Camera and light exposure, color and tone adjustments.
Basics of videoshooting
Photogrammetry in cultural heritage documentation.

Written professional text types.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student understands the value of high-quality photos in object documentation. The student understands the operating principle of digital camera and is able to choose correct camera adjustments according to the environment. The student is able to use manual and light exposure adjustments. In order to use his/her photos for documentation, reports, printed and digital publications the student knows the basics of image processing. The student knows the basics of photography and video-shooting for documentation and the use of photogrammetry for the documentation of cultural heritage.

The student is able under guidance to produce different types of oral and written texts needed in conservation specialist work. The student recognizes the different factors of communication process and is able to produce basic written material of his/her own special field. The student takes part in communicational interaction but needs support in data collection and analysis.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able independently to use and produce oral and written documentation and text types required in his/her work as a specialist. The student is able to evaluate her/his own communicational skills and is willing to set goals for improving his/her competences. The student´s actions are relevant and target-oriented in situations of communication and interaction. The student as a specialist is able to communicate in structured and comprehensive manner taking into consideration the situation and audience. The student is able to collect relevant in her/his field of expertise data and use it with criticism. The student is able to use his/her knowledge of text-types according to the guidelines concerning language and communication on professional level.

In order to use his/her photos for documentation, reports, printed and digital publications the student knows how to use image processing programs and do needed color and tone corrections. The student is able to use photos in an ethical manner and understands the meaning of image manipulation. The student understands the basics of video-shooting and how to use videos for conservation documentation and understands the use of photogrammetry for the documentation of cultural heritage.
The student has gained the set goals with excellence. The student is able target-oriented to use and produce oral and written texts needed for professional expertise. The student is willing to develop his/her communication and interaction skills as a part of his/her professional identity and is able to communicate with appropriate, creative and personal manner. The student shows independence and professionalism when producing new data or approaches and is able to justify her/his views. The student uses language creatively according to the practices and guidelines of her/his field of expertise.
