Objective

Students are familiar with the structure of the degree and their career opportunities. Students recognize the essential companies and functions from the field. Students is familiar with the key guidelines of their field such as laboratory occupational safety instructions, labour law ect. Students know what internationality means in their own field.
Students recognize their strengths and development targets and know how to develop their learning and studying skills. Students are familiar with their physical and social study environment. Students know the key guidelines, rules and study practices of Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Students are familiar with the structure of the curriculum and know how they can plan their studies and the progress of their studies. Students are familiar with the student services as well as the key information systems of Metropolia UAS.
The students know the basics of the office tool programs.
Professional English:
After completing the course the students will know the basics of citing sources and punctuation and be able to write an academic essay.

- Knowledge related to specific fields of work

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

After completing this course, students are familiar with content of the course.
Professional English:
Student is able to write simple assignment papers in essay form, using some of the basic conventions of technical writing and documenting sources
