Objective
The aim of the course is to present the field of materials research of conservation as part of multidisciplinary heritology. The student will gain an overview concerning the latest material research, innovations and methods in the field of conservation. The student will learn some of the latest methods in conservation and is able to evaluate their applicability for different materials and objects of conservation.
Content
The course comprises theoretical studies and practical laboratory assignments. The new methods introduced during the course are applied to practical conservation problems. The main focus of the course is cleaning with different gelling materials.
