Objective

The student knows how to formulate and solve issues in working life development. The student is able to construct the theoretical basis of her thesis and implement the main research and development methods of the field. The student knows how to analyse and critically view the research topics and the problem setting of her thesis. She can document and present the problem setting, methods and results purposefully and in an interesting manner.

Content

The aim of a thesis from the Master’s degree programme in the University of Applied Sciences is to develop and show skill in applying research and use chosen methods to analyse and solve work-related problems and an ability for independent and demanding expert-level work. In her thesis the student exhibits an ability to operate independently as a theoretical and practical expert, researcher of working life, developer and innovator systematically using the research and development process. In its structure and contents the thesis is a more comprehensive and more insightful display of the student’s way of solving professional development challenges and problems than the Bachelor’s degree thesis.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
