Objective
The student knows the processes of human resource management and can apply them in managerial work. The student is familiar with human resource planning as part of strategic management (management of performance and change). The student is also familiar with the labour legislation. The student knows the laws and agreements guiding human resource management and can apply them in supervisory monitoring.
Content
- Strategic human resource management and processes from the viewpoint of the manager
- Legislation, effectiveness and productivity in human resource management
- managerial work in human resource management and as part of overall management
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
• has a limited knowledge of the influence of human resource management in the organisation
• has a limited ability to apply human resource management in his/her own area of expertise
• understands and can briefly describe the main concepts in assignments/exam answers
• inadequately justifies his/her personal view, inadequately expresses critical evaluation, reflection and development proposals
• uses only a few sources in assignments
Assessment criteria, good (3)
• is familiar with the influence of human resource management in the organisation
• is able to apply the principles of human resource management in his/her own area of expertise in a flexible and versatile manner
• understands and can clearly and logically describe the main concepts in assignments/exam answers using examples
• inadequately justifies his/her personal view, inadequately expresses critical evaluation, reflection and development proposals
• uses several different sources in assignments
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
• has excellent knowledge of the influence of human resource management in the organisation
• is able to apply the principles of human resource management in his/her own area of expertise in a very flexible and versatile manner
• understands and can clearly and logically describe the main concepts in assignments/exam answers using examples connected to his/her own experiences
• has excellent communication skills; is fluent in writing and expressing his/her profound and well justified views
• uses several different sources and is able to combine and apply the information innovatively

• has a limited ability to apply human resource management in his/her own area of expertise

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
The student has the possibility to apply for recognition of prior learning and to receive an approval for accreditation for this course if the student has prior studies in university level in human resource management and/or the student has worked in a managerial position with human resource management responsibility.
