Advanced IP Technologies for MultimediaLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

On completing the course, the student will understand the technologies used in modern IP networks. The course introduces first the basic features and protocols of IP networks. The covered technologies include: Mobile IP and IPv6, transfer of multimedia content in IP networks using Multicasting and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), related signalling and transfer protocols such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Real Time Procols (RTP, RTCP) and voice over IP (VoIP) .
