Objective

The course is provided as the mandatory course to refresh and focus the necessary mathematics for the direct use of the professional specialization studies and providing tools for doing research and writing scientific articles. The methodological part concentrates in using logical formalisms in problem description and research skills for writing scientific articles

Content

The course is composed of two parts: 1) Applied Mathematics 2) Methodological Studies. Both parts are assessed separately and one grade is calculated based on grades and extent of the two parts. Both parts need to be completed to get a grade.

Applied mathematics: Matlab overview, Differentiation and Integration, Complex Numbers, Matrices, Fourier Transform and its Applications, z-transform, Probability Calculus.
Methodological Studies: Logical formalisms in problem description, techniques for research, skills for writing and presentation of scientific articles.

Qualifications

B.Sc. level mathematics and technical writing skills.
