Students have the right to apply for the recognition of prior learning. The recognition is based on the skills of the student regardless of the ways the fore mentioned expertise has been acquired. The student has the responsibility to demonstrate the skills required in the study objectives and to provide the required information and documentation based on which the decision for approval will be made.

Profile of the programme
Master of Engineering is a one- or two-year second-cycle polytechnic degree that can be completed after a four-year first-cycle polytechnic degree. Master of Engineering degree produces the same competence to public office as the Master’s degree. The extent of the degree is 60 ECTS credits.
Key learning outcomes
The aim of the Master's degree is to prepare the student for advanced specialist tasks in international engineering surroundings in the field of ICT. The degree provides a student the latest knowledge in a chosen specialisation option, an ability to conduct applied research projects, information acquisition skills, adaptation of new knowledge, the latest knowledge in advanced programming and problem-solving skills.

A graduate in Master of Engineering in Information Technology works in advanced specialist tasks in the field of ICT, focusing on using modern tools and methods in Finland and abroad.
