General information

Credits
4 ECTS

Objective

The student will expand his knowledge about different spectrometric analysis techniques. S/he will study in detail the different atomization techniques in atom absorption spectrometry (AAS), interference factors and their elimination. He will learn about the principles applied in X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, plasma techniques and nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (NMR). The student will know the principles of sampling and different techniques required when handling different kinds of samples and methods of analysis.

Content

• Graphite furnace, cold vapour and hydrid techniques in atom absorption spectrophotometry, plasma emission spectrometers, ICP and DCP methods.
• Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction.
