Objective

On completion of the course, the student will be familiar with:
- the phases and active parties of a construction project
- the significance of the construction industry in the society
- the basics of the central topics in construction economics
- the basic concepts of construction and project economy

Content

The basics of the different sectors in construction economics: the phases and parties in a construction project, construction in the society, the building contract, project economy, cost accounting, schedules, quality assurance, acquisition, real estate management.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the phases and active parties of a construction project. The student knows the basic concepts in construction economics. The student knows the components of the basics of construction economics.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to describe the contents of the different components of construction economy. The student is familiar with the proceedings in a building project and knows the central plans of production management.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is familiar with the contents of the different components of construction economy and knows how they are related. The student is familiar with the concepts related to construction economy.
