On completion of the course the student will

- be able to do cost estimation
- be familiar with the use of building components, performances and types of costs
- be familiar with the phases and documents of contract competition
- be familiar with cost control at a site

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student is familiar with the cost management principles of a construction project and is able to do simple cost calculations. The student is familiar with the concepts used in cost management.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is able to describe the process of cost management in a construction project and knows the necessary documents. The student is able to make a cost estimate, a target estimate, and is able to conduct a task based cost control. The student knows how to use building components, performances and types of costs.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can explain construction project cost management at various stages and knows how to apply cost calculations in different situations. The student is able to describe the meaning of project cost management and its influence on different areas of project management.
