Building Services Engineering and ConstructingLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

On completion of the course the student will have an overall insight of the HVAC and electrical systems in buildings, especially in one-family houses. The student will know the public rules and regulations concerning the HVAC systems in buildings on a general level. The student will also be familiar with HVAC drawings and know the devices in them.
The student will understand the process and parties of building construction, as well as the factors affecting the process. The student will know the types and names of different buildings, structural elements and structures, and will be familiar with the used materials and their properties.
The student will be able to interpret planning documents in construction. The student will be able to apply construction regulations and select systems for a residential apartment building and a simple office building.
