Objective
On completion of the course the student will be able to draw up an energy balance sheet for a building, and examine the thermo-technical behaviour of a building both in stationary and dynamic state. He or she will be able to employ computer applications for energy economical calculations. The student will know how to survey operational spaces and study the profitability of investment alternatives. The student will understand the central role of indoor climate parameters in the formation of the energy costs of a building. The student will possess tools for reducing the energy consumption of buildings. The student will be able to define the energy efficiency figure and draw up an energy certificate. The student will satisfactorily master the operations carried out when performing an energy inspection.
Content
Energy balance sheet for building.
Energy economy of ventilation systems and heat recovery.
Domestic hot water as part of the energy economy of buildings.
Power consumption and its formation in buildings.
Alternatives for diminishing consumption.
Energy efficiency figure and energy certificates.
Energy surveys and inspections.
Energy use in buildings and the environmental importance of that in Finland now and in the future.
